K-State Baseball Announces Schedule Changes

Kansas State has made three changes to its 2003 baseball schedule.

Manhattan, Kan. - Kansas State has made three changes to its 2003 baseball schedule due to the postponements of two scheduled contests with Wichita State this past week, according to athletic department officials.

Kansas State has moved its return trip to Creighton up one day from Wednesday, March 26 to Tuesday, March 25 beginning at 3 p.m. at CU Sports Complex in Omaha, Neb. The Wildcats will then host Wichita State on March 26 at Tointon Family Stadium starting at 7 p.m. The two teams will meet in Wichita at Eck Stadium on Wednesday, April 9 beginning at 7 p.m.

Season and individual ticket holders can use the tickets issued for the March 4 game for the contest on March 26. Any other questions regarding tickets, can be made to the Kansas State Athletic Ticket Office at (785) 532-7606 or at (800) 221-CATS.

Kansas State was suppose to play host to Wichita State on Tuesday, March 4 in Manhattan before traveling to play the Shockers in Wichita on Wednesday, March 5, however, due to inclement weather in the region, both games were postponed.

In all, the teams are scheduled to play four games in 2003, including a contest in Wichita on Wednesday, April 30 and a game in Manhattan on Tuesday, May 6.

Kansas State (5-2) returns to action on Friday, March 7, as the Wildcats begin a four-game series with Arkansas (10-0) at Tointon Family Stadium beginning at 6 p.m. The first two games will be played in Manhattan before the teams travel back to Fayetteville, Ark., for the final two contests on Sunday and Monday. Friday's game, which will be the first night contest in Manhattan since May 6, 1998, will also represent Arkansas' first-ever visit to 'The Little Apple' in the 43-game series.
