In the midst of a weeklong road trip across Texas, K-State opens its Big 12 schedule with a three-game series at No. 14 Texas from March 21-22 at UFCU Disch-Falk Field ... The Wildcats won their first game of the road trip on Tuesday, beating Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, 3-2 ... K-State has won 7 of its last 9 games since being swept by Cal in a three-game series in Berkeley from February 28-March 2 ... Texas, ranked in every national poll, has won 3 of its last 5 games since splitting a four-game series at Stanford, including winning 2 of 3 against West Virginia in Austin last weekend ... This marks the first time K-State has opened its Big 12 slate with a series against Texas since 2011.

K-State captured the first game of its road trip on Tuesday, beating Stephen F. Austin, 3-2, at Jaycees Field ... K-State backed up a quality start by Kyle Halbohn by scoring all 3 of its runs in the sixth inning, via a two-run triple by Steve Serratore and a safety squeeze bunt by Tyler Moore that made it 3-1 ... Halbohn threw a career-high 6.0 innings, allowing one run on 4 hits and no walks while also striking out 3, another personal-best ... After the Lumberjacks hit their second home run of the game to cut the K-State lead to 3-2 in the seventh, Wildcat reliever Bryce Ward inherited a bases loaded jam in the seventh before escaping unscathed with a groundout ... Shane Conlon reached base with a double in Tuesday night's sixth inning, helping him extend his on-base streak to a team-best 20 games ... Conlon has reached base safely in all 20 games this season by utilizing a .457 OBP, which is second-best on the team and 10th in the Big 12 ... Conlon's career-high for an on-base streak is set at 21 games, established from February 15-March 22, 2014 ...
