K-State Baseball Adds Tuesday Contest

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State athletic officials announced Monday that the Wildcats will take on Newman University Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Tointon Family Stadium.

The game replaces one of three cancellations this season due to weather. Kansas State had the final two games of its series against Milwaukee last weekend canceled due to snow, while the Wildcats were also rained out on Monday, February 22, at The Citadel.

Newman, located in Wichita, Kan., is a NCAA Division II member and competes in the Heartland Conference. This season, the Jets are 13-14 overall and 13-13 in conference play. Tuesday's game marks the first against a Division I school this season.

Kansas State is 4-0 all time against Newman. The last meeting between the two schools came on April 5, 2006, with the Wildcats taking a 16-3 decision.

Following its game against Newman, Kansas State will begin conference play as the Wildcats host Oklahoma State Friday through Sunday, March 26-28. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., at Tointon Family Stadium.
