For the first time since March 17 at Stephen F. Austin, K-State will take part in non-conference action as the Wildcats will host No. 23 Nebraska on Tuesday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. and then head north to Papillion, Nebraska to take on Omaha at Werner Park, home of the Kansas City Royals' Triple-A affiliate Omaha Storm Chasers, on April 8 at 6:35 p.m. ... The Wildcats are coming off a series loss against West Virginia this past weekend (Thursday-Saturday) at Tointon Family Stadium ... K-State, though, has won 7 of its last 9 non-conference games ... Nebraska, which was ranked in several national polls last week, enters Tuesday on a 3-game losing streak after being swept by Maryland in College Park ... Prior to being swept, Nebraska had won 16 of its previous 17 games (15-1 at home) ... Omaha, since having the March 25 game at K-State canceled due to rain, has lost 5 of its last 7 contests but won its series this past weekend vs. Western Illinois.

For the second straight weekend, K-State won the series opener, taking an 8-2 decision over West Virginia, before losing the final 2 games to drop the Big 12 series ... On Thursday, K-State seized a 4-0 lead before the fifth inning with a pair of two-out, two-run hits by Steve Serratore and Carter Yagi ... The Wildcat pitching staff, meanwhile, limited the Mountaineers to one run in the first 7 innings and holding them to 6 hits throughout the game ... The Wildcats allowed 3 unanswered runs after taking a 2-0 lead in the first with the help of a two-out, two-run triple by Max Brown ... K-State was out-hit in the finale, 12-4.

Tuesday's contest vs. Nebraska will be K-State's ninth non-conference home game this season ... The Wildcats are 6-2 in non-conference play at home this season ...
