Wildcats Improve in Coaches? Poll

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State earned its highest-ever ranking in the USA Today/ESPN Baseball Coaches' Top 25 poll, checking in at No. 16 as the rankings were released on Monday.

The No. 16 distinction was two spots better than the previous best by the coaches, which was No. 18 in consecutive weeks last season. Also, the mark is tied for the fourth-best ranking in any poll in school history.

K-State also improved three spots to No. 17 in this week's Collegiate Baseball Top 30, while the Cats were ranked 24th by Rivals.com and 18th by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Kansas State enters a stretch with seven of its next nine games on the road, beginning with Wichita State on Tuesday. The game, which will be televised on Cox Communication's Kansas 22, is set for a 7 p.m. first pitch at Eck Stadium.
