FULLERTON, Calif. – Kansas State junior catcher Dan Klein was named to the 2011 NCAA Fullerton All-Regional team after play this past weekend.

Klein went 3-for-6 in K-State’s two games, including a 2-for-3 effort against regional champion Stanford on Friday. The junior-college transfer also made an impact on defense as he threw out two base stealers Saturday against Illinois.

Klein became the Wildcats’ sixth all-regional selection in the last three years. Justin Bloxom, Jordan Cruz, Nick Martini and A.J. Morris were named to the Houston All-Regional team in 2009, while Carter Jurica earned a spot on the Fayetteville All-Regional team last season.

K-State, which earned a postseason berth for the third-straight year, concluded the season with a 36-25 record as the Wildcats picked up the third-most wins in school history.
