Jurica Named to All-Regional Team

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Kansas State junior shortstop Carter Jurica was named to the 2010 NCAA Fayetteville All-Regional team after play this past weekend.

In three games at Baum Stadium, Jurica went 6-for-14 with a double, two home runs, four RBI and four run scored.

Jurica hit a pair of solo home runs on consecutive days as he skied a fourth-inning shot on Saturday against Grambling State, while he gave the Wildcats an early lead against Washington State on Sunday with a first-inning homer over the wall in straight-way center field.

The two home runs by the Katy, Texas, product pushed his season total to 13, which is tied for the fourth-most in school history and were the most since Mark English also hit 13 in 2000.

Kansas State, which participated in its second-straight regional, concluded the season with a 37-22 record as the Wildcats earned their second-most wins in school history.
