MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State senior catcher Dan Klein was selected to participate in the first-ever Perfect Game Collegiate League All-Star Game, which will take place at 6:05 p.m. (CT) on Monday, July 18, at Dunn Field in Elmira, N.Y.

Klein is the second Wildcat to earn an all-star nod this summer after Wade Hinkle participated in the California Collegiate League All-Star Game on Wednesday.

Klein, a member of the Glens Falls Golden Eagles, has been solid behind the plate, throwing out six runners on the base paths in nine attempts, and he has just one passed ball on the year. One of 13 position players selected to the all-star game to represent the east squad, Klein has four doubles, six RBI, six walks and five runs scored in 11 games this summer.

Klein played in 38 games for the Wildcats in 2011, hitting .302 (35-for-116) with five doubles, two home runs and nine RBI. He also made just three errors in 281 total chances, good for a .989 fielding percentage.

The Perfect Game Collegiate League was founded in the fall of 2010 and began play this June with eight teams located across upstate New York.
