MANHATTAN, Kan. - K-State's senior second baseman Ross Kivett added to his summer league distinctions after he was named to Baseball America's Top Prospects List for college summer leagues. Kivett, who was ranked 28th on the list, was one of 30 players selected by the publication from the talent-ridden Cape Cod Baseball League for the top prospect honor.

Kivett helped the Orleans Firebirds reach the Cape Cod Baseball League championship this past summer after ranking third in the league in batting average (.336), sixth in hits (47) and seventh in doubles (10). He was named to the Cape Cod Baseball League Post-Season All-League Team.

In August, the 2013 Big 12 Player of the Year was selected to Perfect Game's 2013 Summer League All-America Team.

Kivett is one of 11 Big 12 players to be recognized by Baseball America for the Top Prospects List. The Southeastern Conference paced all conferences by landing 21 players on the list. Texas A&M and Virginia led all schools with six players on the list.

The 30 prospects selected from the Cape Cod Baseball League were the most for any of the 21 college summer leagues that were evaluated by Baseball America.
