MANHATTAN, Kan. - Jared Goedert and Evan Marshall led a group of five former Kansas State baseball players in Minor League postseason action over the past month.

Goedert, a third baseman for Triple A Columbus of the International League, helped the Cleveland Indian affiliate earn its second-straight International League Championship and Triple A National Championship. A letterwinner from 2005-06, Goedert went 6-for-29 in the postseason with a double, triple, home run and one RBI in seven total games as the Clippers swept Durham, 3-0, and won the International League Championship, three games to one, over Lehigh Valley.

In a one-game Triple A National Championship against the Omaha Storm Chasers in Albuquerque, N.M., Goedert was 2-for-4 with a RBI double in the Clippers' 8-3 victory.

Marshall, who began his career in Class A Short-Season but worked his way to Double A, pitched in five games during the Mobile Bay Bears' run through the Southern League playoffs that included a series win over Birmingham and a three-games-to-one series victory against Tennessee in the championship. Marshall pitched in five games and earned two saves, tossing five scoreless innings with two walks and seven strikeouts. A 2011 draft pick by Arizona, Marshall picked up the save to close out the Southern League Championship by tossing 1.1 innings with three strikeouts.

Former Wildcats Justin Bloxom, Trevor Hurley and Carter Jurica also led their teams into postseason play at the Class A Advanced level.

Bloxom, playing for the Potomac Nationals, was 1-for-12 with a double in a 3-2 series loss to eventual Carolina League Champion Frederick. A relief pitcher in the Texas Ranger organization, Hurley pitched three innings and allowed two runs on three hits as the Myrtle Beach Pelicans lost in the first round of the Carolina League playoffs, 3-1, to Kinston. Jurica was 0-for-3 with a run scored in the San Jose Giants' 3-1 series loss to Stockton in the California League playoffs.
