Fall World Series Open to Public

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State baseball will hold three intrasquad games next week, giving fans the opportunity to preview the 2011 Wildcats as all Fall World Series games will be open to the public.

The Fall World Series is the culmination of over a month’s worth of practice to prepare for the upcoming season, which begins Friday, Feb. 18, 2010, with a three-game series with Pacific in Stockton, Calif.

The series begins Tuesday, Oct. 19, while game two will be held Thursday, Oct. 21. The series concludes the next day, Friday, Oct. 22.

All games will begin at 6 p.m., and will be played at Tointon Family Stadium.

Kansas State welcomes back six position starters – including 2010 Big 12 Player of the Year Nick Martini – and six pitchers that threw more than 45 innings from a squad that went 37-22 and earned its second straight trip to an NCAA Regional. The Wildcats also finished with a 14-12 mark in Big 12 play to place third in the conference, their highest finish since the league began play in 1997.
