K-State Opens Fall World Series to Public

MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State baseball fans will have five opportunities next week to get a preview of the 2008 Wildcats as all Fall World Series intrasquad games will be open to the public, head coach Brad Hill announced Tuesday.

The Fall World Series is the culmination of over a month’s worth of practice to prepare for the upcoming season, which begins Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at California.

The series starts Sunday, Oct. 28, with first pitch set for 2 p.m. Prior to the game, a limited supply of pizzas will be available to fans in attendance starting at approximately 1:30 p.m. The pizza giveaway is the first of two promotional activities by the program to encourage fans to attend the series. The second is on Halloween night, Wednesday, Oct. 31, as candy will be handed out starting at 6 p.m. before the 6:30 start to game three.

Game two of the series is set for a 4 p.m. first pitch on Monday, Oct. 29. Following an off day on Oct. 30 and game three on Halloween, the team will conclude the series with a pair of 4 p.m. games on Thursday, Nov. 1 and Friday, Nov. 2.

All games are held at Tointon Stadium.
