Martin Interview To Appear on College Gameday

Head coach Frank Martin already ranks among the Top 5 in coaching wins at K-State.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State head coach Frank Martin’s interview with longtime friend Pedro Gomez of ESPN will appear on the College Gameday show tomorrow at 10 a.m.

 

The feature, which was also done in full Spanish for ESPN Deportes, details much of the life story of Martin growing up in Miami and his transition to becoming head coach at K-State.  It will appear in the first hour of the Gameday show on ESPNU beginning at 10 a.m.  The relationship between Martin and Gomez goes all the way back to the mid-1980s when they worked at the same bank together in Miami. 

 

The Sunflower Showdown presented by Dillons will be the showcase of the College Gameday show for the third time in four seasons on Saturday, as the crew of Rece Davis, Digger Phelps, Jay Bilas and Hubert Davis will broadcast live from Allen Fieldhouse.   The 271st meeting between K-State (14-7, 2-4 Big 12) and Kansas (19-1, 4-1 Big 12) will also mark the 150th anniversary of Kansas statehood with a special ceremony right before the contest.  The game tips off at 6 p.m. on ESPN with Dan Shulman, Dick Vitale and Erin Andrews on the call.
