NCAA Tourney Ticket Deadline Approaches

by Mark Janssen, K-State Official Sports Report

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State basketball fans are reminded of the March 8 deadline for those wishing to order NCAA Tournament tickets through the Wildcat athletics department.

Season ticket-holders and Ahearn Fund donors received a 2010 NCAA Ticket Application mailer in mid-February for the First/Second Round games, Regional games and Final Four games.

"If fans are interested in going to any of the destinations, we encourage them to return the form by the deadline," said Chad Weiberg, KSU's associate athletics director in charge of the Ahearn Fund. "The Selection Show won't be until Sunday night and we could be playing on Thursday (March 18), so advance ticket requests are very helpful in managing the rapid turnaround."

Weiberg reminded fans that all ticket applications will be filled according to the K-State Priority Points system. Tickets are limited as K-State's First/Second Round allotment is only 550 tickets, but from that total will come team and staff needs reducing the available number of public tickets to approximately 400.

Orders can be made online through, by faxing the form to 785-532-7689, or by mailing it to the athletics department.

Because of the limited time between Selection Sunday and the start of the tournament, Weiberg said all tickets will be required to be picked up in person at a designated will-call location at the tournament site.

"We're asking that the ticket-holder of record is the individual picking up the tickets," Weiberg said. "That's to protect our fans and make sure fans from other schools are not in our section."

Fans purchasing First/Second Round tickets through K-State will be charged for only the sessions in which the Wildcats participate. All-session tickets may be purchased directly through NCAA sites, if available.

Ticket prices differ depending on location, but First/Second Round all-session tickets generally are priced between $130 to $160. Regional tickets cost from $145 to $190, and Final Four tickets are priced at $270.
