K-State Fans Set MBB, WBB 1st Day Ticket Records

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- K-State fans have stepped up in a big way for both the Wildcat men's and women's basketball programs by setting a first-day sales record for 2015-16 season tickets, department officials announced. In total, K-State fans purchased 1,785 season tickets on Wednesday, June 10.

In first day sales, fans purchased 39 percent more men's basketball season tickets on the first day of sales for the 2015-16 season compared to the 2014-15 season with over 1,011 seats claimed on the the first day they were available.

"Once again our fans have shown why they are the best in the nation by resetting our first day season ticket record," said head coach Bruce Weber. "Special thanks to our athletic department staff, including the Athletic Ticketing and Fan Experience and Sales offices, for again providing the Best Fan Experience in the Big 12 Conference. We look forward to playing in front of our fans this year as they continue to make Bramlage Coliseum one of the hardest places to play in the country."

On the women's side, fans purchased at a 413 percent rate over last season with a total of 774 season tickets sold on the opening day of sales.

"I want to thank the K-State fan base and the athletic department staff for continuing the great momentum our fan support had at the end of the year," said women's basketball head coach Jeff Mittie about the increase in first day ticket sales. "It is great to see K-State fans are excited about our group going forward. They were a big part of the successes we had and we hope to see great crowds early next season."

K-State men's basketball season tickets for the 2015-16 season are available, with a variety of pricing options including a 4-pack of general admission or bench season tickets that is only $12.50 per game. The priority deadline to arrange payment, retain seats, or participate in new seat selection using athletic department priority points, for the upcoming season is Friday, July 17. All upgrade and new full season-ticket requests will be assigned utilizing the K-State Priority Points system, which rewards fans for their history of season ticket purchases and contributions to the Ahearn Fund.

Kansas State women's basketball season tickets for the 2015-16 season are available for as low as $1.25 per game for football and men's basketball season ticket holders.

For the first time this season, all men's and women's basketball season ticket holders will receive concessions discounts including $1 off all hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels and large souvenir fountain drinks at any of the main concession stands in Bramlage Coliseum. The early bird deadline to purchase season tickets is July 3 while orders by the July 17 priority deadline may be enrolled in the five-month payment plan.

The Wildcat men will return seven letter winners, including four players with starting experience, in 2015-16 to go with the influx of at least six newcomers, including Mr. Kansas Basketball Dean Wade and NJCAA First Team All-American Carlbe Ervin II. Senior guard Justin Edwards (6.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg.) is the team's top returner in both scoring and steals (37), while junior forward Wesley Iwundu (5.8 ppg., 3.5 rpg.) is the leading returner in rebounding (108), assists (61), blocks (20) and minutes (780).

For the 2015-16 season, the K-State women return eight letter winners from the 2014-15 squad. The Wildcats will be led into the 2015-16 season by 2015 All-Big 12 Second Team selection and Big 12 All-Defensive Team honoree Breanna Lewis (11.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 2.9 bpg), junior-to-be guard Kindred Wesemann (8.0 ppg, 2.6 apg) and senior-to-be guard Bri Craig (6.1 ppg, 2.3 rpg). Overall, K-State returns 61 percent of its scoring, 70 percent of its rebounding and 63 percent of its assists.
