Two More Games Picked For ESPNU

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State’s men’s basketball games with Washington State and Xavier have been selected for ESPNU, the network and the Big 12 Conference announced on Friday.


The home game with Washington State in the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series will tip off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, while its contest against Xavier on Tuesday, Dec. 8 is set for an 8 p.m. tip.  The school already announced games against Oklahoma on Saturday, Feb. 20 (5 p.m.) and Missouri on Saturday, Feb. 27 (7 p.m.) will be carried by the network.


The telecasts raise K-State’s total number of nationally-televised games to nine, all on the ESPN family of networks.  The Wildcats have two games scheduled for ESPN, including a Big Monday clash with Texas on Monday, Jan. 18 (8 p.m.) and a rivalry contest against Kansas on Saturday, Jan. 30 (6 p.m.), while the squad will appear three times on ESPN2 against Missouri on Saturday, Jan. 9 (1 p.m.), Texas A&M on Tuesday, Jan. 12 (6 p.m.) and Iowa State on Saturday, Feb. 6 (1 p.m.).


There could be more national television opportunities in the schedule with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tipoff announcing its match-ups and television line-up in the coming weeks. 


The times for the remaining home games and the FSN Kansas City television schedule will be released at a later date. 


K-State returns four starters and eight lettermen from a squad that produced a 22-12 overall record and finished in a tie for fourth place in the Big 12 in 2008-09.  The Wildcats advanced to the second round of the NIT, where they lost to top-seeded San Diego State.  In addition, the team will welcome a five-man recruiting class that has been judged to be amongst the top 20 in the nation by several outlets.
