Samuels Solid Again, As All-Stars Remain Winless

Junior Jamar Samuels is averaging 17 points in three games with the All-Stars.

PARIS, France - Junior forward Jamar Samuels blocked a game-high five shots to go with game-tying 14 points, as the East Coast All-Stars remained winless on their nine-day European trip with a 104-85 loss to the Tunisian National Team on Wednesday night.

 

Samuels, who was hampered by foul trouble, added four steals and three rebounds to his totals, while fellow Wildcat Nick Russell added seven points, four blocks and one rebound.  Notre Dame's Scott Martin grabbed his second double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Arkansas' Jeff Peterson chipped in 12 points.  Samuels has been solid all-around in the All-Stars' three games, averaging 17.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 3.0 blocks per game.  He had a double-double in the loss to the Swiss National Team on Monday.

 

Tunisia ranks in the top 50 in the FIBA World rankings and will be in the same pool as the U.S. National team for the upcoming World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.     

 

The All-Stars will compete against the British All-Stars this afternoon at 1 p.m. CST.
