Wildcat Duo Combines for 30, as All-Stars Gain Win

PARIS, France – Junior Jamar Samuels and sophomore Nick Russell combined for 30 points, as the East Coast All-Stars broke into the win column with a 100-73 victory against the Paris Select Club on Thursday evening.

 

Purdue’s Lewis Jackson and Harvard’s Keith Wright sparked a 16-4 run to open up the game, as the All-Stars came out firing and maintained a comfortable lead throughout the contest.  Samuels and Russell each tallied a team-leading 15 points, while Jackson and Wright added 13 and 12 points, respectively.  Jackson had a near double-double with nine assists and six steals, while Wright totaled six rebounds and three blocks.  It was a true balanced scoring effort, as Arkansas’ Jeff Peterson and St. John’s Paris Horne also chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively.

 

Prior to the contest, the All-Stars toured the world-renowned Louvre Museum, where they took in such sights as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and the ancient Greek sculpture Venus de Milo.

 

The All-Stars will complete their tour today with a rematch with the Tunisian National Team at 1 p.m. CST.
