Martin to appear at Cancer event Oct. 7

MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State head coach Frank Martin will be among four area coaches that will appear at the Coaches vs. Cancer Season Tipoff Reception, which is set for Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the College Basketball Experience.

 

Martin will be joined at the reception by Kansas head coach Bill Self, Missouri head coach Mike Anderson and UMKC head coach Matt Brown.  There will also be a special appearance by the legendary Norm Stewart, former head coach at Missouri, cancer survivor and Coaches vs. Cancer Founding Father. 

 

The quartet will discuss their respective team’s outlook for the coming season at a cocktail reception as well as host a silent auction to help raise money to fight cancer.

 

The event runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the College Basketball Experience, which is located adjacent to the Sprint Center in Kansas City.

 

Cost is $85 per person, while individuals under 21 years of age can attend for $50.  Tickets can be purchased online at www.kcseasontipoff.org.
