K-State unveils new men's basketball uniforms

MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State men’s basketball team unveiled their new Nike-designed uniforms on Friday evening at “Madness in Manhattan” at Bramlage Coliseum.

The aggressive cat scratch-inspired uniforms have three colors white, purple and black.  It marks the first time in Kansas State history that the program has three distinctive jerseys and the first time it has one in a color other than white and purple.  The program will continue to wear white uniforms during home games and purple during road contests.  The black is an alternate jersey and will be used on special occasions.

“Bob Huggins has always been someone who lets Nike push the gamut with both design and fabrication,” said Eric Lautenbach, Nike Director of College Basketball Sports Marketing. “We have a long and special history with Coach Huggins of making some of the most state-of-the-art, eye-catching uniforms in the country.  Clearly, the new uniforms are something that we had been working on with him and happily, we launch them with him at Kansas State.”

The white uniform top consists of black “Kansas State” lettering with purple numbers.  There are purple “scratches” under each arm as well as on the white shorts, along with “Wildcats” lettering on the left leg.  There is a purple Powercat at the base of the neck, while purple and black strips accent the shoulders.
