FSN Midwest announces basketball TV schedule

MANHATTAN, Kan. FSN Midwest will broadcast 10 Kansas State men’s basketball games in 2007-08 season, the school and network announced on Friday.


The regional sports network will produce and distribute 10 men’s basketball games, including three key Big 12 Conference contests.  The television schedule opens on Friday, Nov. 9 with the first game of the Frank Martin era against Sacramento State at Bramlage Coliseum beginning at 7 p.m.


In addition to the Hornets, the Wildcats will play Pittsburg State on Sunday, Nov. 11, California on Sunday, Dec. 9, Winston-Salem State on Saturday, Dec. 22, Wagner on Saturday, Dec. 29 and Savannah State on Monday, Jan. 7 in non-league action on FSN Midwest.  The conference portion of play begins on Saturday, Jan. 26 with a home game against Iowa State at 5 p.m., and follows with a home game against Nebraska on Wednesday, Feb. 6 and a road tilt at Baylor on Saturday, Feb. 23.      


Per Big 12 Conference guidelines, the K-State men’s regional basketball telecasts on FSN Midwest are available on cable and satellite in the state of Kansas and throughout the Kansas City area, reaching more than 1 million homes.   


The addition of the 10 games on FSN Midwest completes the most comprehensive television schedule in school history with a total of 28 regular-season telecasts, including all 16 conference games.  The Wildcats will have a school-record 12 nationally-televised games, including five contests on ESPN, five on ESPN2 and two ESPNU.  The squad will also have six league games broadcast on ESPN Plus.


In the summer of 2006, Kansas State announced a three-year extension with FSN Midwest to continue as the exclusive television partner for Wildcat athletics.  The contract continues to make the regional sports network the holder of the Wildcats’ third-tier television rights for men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and baseball.  The agreement also makes the network the exclusive home of the Ron Prince, Frank Martin and Deb Patterson television shows.  Those weekly shows are also available nationwide on satellite and to digital cable subscribers who have access to Fox College Sports.
