K-State to host Basketball Clinic Nov. 3

MANHATTAN, Kan. Washburn coach Bob Chipman and K-State women’s coach Deb Patterson, along with Wildcat men’s coach Frank Martin, will be the featured speakers at the annual Kansas State men’s basketball coaching clinic, which is set for Saturday, Nov. 3 at Bramlage Coliseum.


The clinic, which will begin at 10 a.m., will include presentations by Chipman, Patterson and assistant coach Brad Underwood as well as Martin and the rest of the coaching staff.  Clinic participants will also be able to attend the pre-game workout and shootaround prior to Kansas State’s exhibition game with Fort Hays State, which is set for a 5 p.m. tip.


The cost of the clinic is $75, which not only includes admission to the clinic, lunch, parking and pre-game workout and shootaround observation.  The cost with a game ticket to the exhibition game is $85.  The cost for additional staff members is $60 ($70 with a game ticket).


A former Kansas State lettermen Bob Chipman is beginning his 29th season at the helm of the Washburn program with a 628-240 (.724) overall record and 10 NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.  He was a two-year lettermen for the legendary Jack Hartman from 1971-73, helping the Wildcats to back-to-back NCAA Elite Eight appearances and Big Eight titles.


Patterson is beginning her 12th season as the head coach of the Kansas State women’s basketball program and lists a 218-128 (.630) overall record.  The program’s all-time winningest coach, she has guided the Wildcats to six consecutive postseason appearances and five 20+ win seasons.
