Men's Basketball Student Lineup Program Announced

K-State has one of the most energetic student sections in the Big 12.

Nov. 4, 2011

MANHATTAN, Kan. – With the basketball season quickly approaching, the athletics department and Student Governing Association (SGA) today issued information regarding changes in the men’s basketball line-up program for K-State students.

The program is intended to encourage student attendance at all home games, while creating a priority system for game-day line-up procedures at Bramlage Coliseum for selected men’s games.

Statement from K-State Student Body President Nate Spriggs:
“It’s exciting to see K-State Athletics continue to work with students to develop a line-up system that best suits the needs and interests of students.  This year’s policy rewards fan loyalty on an individual level by focusing on each student’s game attendance in place of group attendance.  The new policy also aims to respect student time and academic obligations by allowing wristband-holders to line-up any time before 6:00PM. We look forward to a great season, Go Cats!”

Student pass-holders will receive one point for each men’s basketball game attended.  Students may also receive a bonus point for purchasing a ticket to the Alabama game at the Sprint Center or the West Virginia game at INTRUST Bank Arena.  Student tickets for the neutral site games are on sale beginning ICAT pass holders on Tuesday, November 8 and Combo pass holders on Wednesday, November 9 at the Bramlage Coliseum Ticket Office beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Students will need to earn a minimum number of points to receive a guaranteed wristband to the Big Monday K-State vs. KU men’s basketball game. Once a month, students will receive an email with their current point total (11/23, 12/19, 1/17 and 2/6).  The minimum number of points needed to earn a wristband will be released on January 17, leaving four games for students to earn additional points (1/18 vs. Texas, 1/28 vs. Oklahoma, 2/4 vs. Texas A&M and 2/7 vs. Texas Tech).

Students who qualify for the guaranteed wristband will be alerted following the Texas Tech game on Tuesday, February 7. Those pass-holders on the list may pick up a special-entry wristband at the Student Union Wednesday, February 8 through Friday, February 10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Students holding a KU entry-wristband, a student pass and K-State student ID will be permitted to line up early (beginning at 6 a.m.) on Monday, February 13 for the game. Early-entry students must be in line by 6 p.m.

After Friday, February 10th all remaining wristbands will be available to all student pass holders starting at the women’s basketball game on Sunday, February 12th against KU and at the Bramlage Coliseum Ticket Office during regular office hours on Monday, February 13th starting at 8:30 a.m.  For more information on the men’s basketball student line-up visit www.kstatesports.com/studentlineup

Students are also reminded of the following game-day policies.

--Student seating is first-come, first-served in Bramlage Coliseum for all games.  Due to higher ticket sales, possession of a student pass does not guarantee entry into the arena.  It is suggested that students arrive early for high-demand games such as Big 12 contests.

--Student pass holders will enter Bramlage Coliseum at the Northeast entry this season due to construction of the new Basketball Training Facility.

--Students are not allowed to “camp” for home games. Students may begin lining up for home contests no earlier than 6 a.m. on the day of the game.

--K-State Athletics may utilize the line-up system for other home contests if attendance beyond capacity is expected. Students will be notified via email no less than one week prior to each game that the line-up policy will be in effect.

--Students are required to present their student pass card and show a student ID for admittance.

--ICAT pass-holders will be admitted 90 minutes prior to tipoff and receive special seating at the top of Section 18, rows 13-31, as well as Sections 19, 20 and 21.  All students in these sections will be required to wear an ICAT wristband that will be issued upon entry at the Northeast entrance.

--Students with general admission passes will be admitted entry 75 minutes prior to tipoff and sit in Sections 22, 23, 24 and 25.   General admission pass-holders will be allowed to fill any open seats in the ICAT section 30 minutes prior to tipoff.
