Duo Named to All-Tournament Team

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Senior guard Denis Clemente and junior guard Jacob Pullen were named to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tipoff All-Tournament team on Monday after guiding the Wildcats to a third-place finish at the tournament.

Pullen averaged 19.0 points on 40.5 percent shooting in the tournament with 4.0 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 32.7 minutes per game.  He scored in double figures in all three games, including a season-high 26 points against No. 18/21 Dayton on Sunday night.   Clemente averaged 15.0 points on 34.1 percent shooting with 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 31.7 minutes per game.  He scored 17 points against Ole Miss in the semifinals before erupting for 21 against Dayton in 32 minutes of action.    

The duo helped Kansas State finish with a 2-1 record and in third place in the tournament with an 83-75 victory over No. 18/21 Dayton on Sunday night.  It marked the team's first win over a ranked non-conference opponent since beating No. 19 Iowa, 86-78, on Dec. 23, 2000 and the first over a ranked non-conference opponent on a neutral court since beating No. 17 Arkansas, 47-46, in overtime on Dec. 27, 1980.  The Wildcats also beat Boston University, 80-70, in the opening game on Thursday before falling to Ole Miss, 86-74, on Friday. 

Villanova's Antonio Pena was named the tournament's most valuable player after helping Wildcats to the tournament championship.  Others on the all-tournament team included Villanova's Scottie Reynolds and Ole Miss' Chris Warren.   Villanova won the title with a 79-67 victory over Ole Miss.
