K-State Football to Host Signing Day 2008

MANHATTAN, Kan. Fans will have the opportunity to tour the K-State football facilities and be introduced to the newest members of the Wildcat football program as Kansas State will host its third annual Signing Day with Head Coach Ron Prince on Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Vanier Football Complex and Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

The event for K-State fans will be hosted by coach Prince, who will provide commentary on the Wildcats’ 2008 recruiting class and answer questions regarding the class. Recruiting coordinator and linebackers coach Matt Wallerstedt will also conduct a player-by-player review of the class, which will feature video clips of each of the new Wildcats.

Tickets purchased for the event prior to Feb 5 are priced at $10 for the general public and $5 for Kansas State students (with K-State I.D.). The event will be limited to the first 400 tickets that are purchased. Any remaining tickets not purchased by Feb. 5 will be sold at the door on Feb. 6 for $17.

Included in the ticket price is a meal, which will feature such tailgating favorites as hamburgers and hotdogs grilled on the Vanier Complex deck overlooking the field. A cash bar will also be available in the Big 8 room of the Vanier Complex, while guided tours of the locker room, weight room and team room will also be available during the social hour of the event.

The presentation of the class will be held inside the team meeting room with audio and video available in the Big 8 Room and the players’ lounge. Video only will also be displayed on the south end zone video board of the stadium. Attendees are also encouraged to participate in a washers tournament on Wagner Field from 4-5 p.m. To sign up for the tournament, email wildcatfans@ksu.edu or call (785) 532-5769 by 5 p.m. Monday, February 4.

Fans who purchase Signing Day tickets in advance, who do not have basketball season tickets or parking, will be allowed to park free of charge in the Vanier Complex or the east side Sports Complex parking lot.

For students planning to attend the men’s basketball game, scheduled for 7 p.m., the bottom of section 21 will be reserved until 15 minutes prior to tip-off.
