Finney, Lockett to Attend NFL Combine

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Former K-State offensive lineman B.J. Finney and wide receiver Tyler Lockett were among the 300-plus players invited to participate in the 2015 NFL Combine, February 17-23, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, the National Football League announced Friday afternoon.

It marks the third-straight year K-State has sent multiple players to the most vital event on the path to the NFL Draft. Last season, long snapper Marcus Heit and offensive lineman Cornelius Lucas attended the combine, while linebacker Arthur Brown, place kicker Anthony Cantele, wide receiver Chris Harper, quarterback Collin Klein and fullback Braden Wilson competed in the 2013 version.

Finney and Lockett are putting their talents on display for NFL teams for the second-straight month. A native of Andale, Kansas, Finney was one of the top offensive linemen at the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Florida. Lockett, a product of Tulsa, Oklahoma, earned rave reviews for his performance at the Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.

Finney finished his four-year career at K-State by starting all 52 games, including the final 51 at center. He was a four-time All-Big 12 selection - one of just three players in school history to earn four straight all-conference honors - while also picking up All-America designations 2014.

Lockett broke 17 records at K-State, including the career marks for receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns previously held by his father, Kevin. He became the first player in school history to earn All-America honors every year while also being named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year as both a junior and senior after a stellar career in the return game.

The 2015 NFL Combine will be televised live by NFL Network.

Kansas State will hold its annual Awards Ceremony on Sunday at 3 p.m., in McCain Auditorium. Fans wishing to attend the ceremony can reserve free tickets through the McCain Auditorium box office at 785-532-6428. The ceremony will also be shown live on K-StateHD.TV.

K-State officials announced Thursday that the 2015 Purple/White Spring Game will be held on Saturday, April 25, at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas, the award-winning facility and home to Sporting Kansas City. Tickets for the game, which kicks off at 3 p.m., go on sale to Ahearn Fund members February 23 and to the general public on March 2.
