MANHATTAN, Kan. – Coming off a memorable Big 12 Championship campaign that culminated with a berth in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and several months of offseason conditioning work, the Kansas State football team will hit the practice field for the first time this spring today with the first of 14 workouts leading up to the April 27 Purple/White game.

The Wildcats return 42 lettermen from last year’s 11-2 squad which is led by 2011 and 2012 Big 12 and National Coach of the Year Bill Snyder, who is in his 22nd season overall at Kansas State.

Kansas State also returns 11 starters in 2013, while a total of 18 returners have earned starts during their Wildcat career. The Wildcats return nine players from 2012 that earned midseason or postseason All-Big 12 honors from various media outlets, including returning All-Americans Ty Zimmerman at safety and kick returner/wide receiver Tyler Lockett.

Tickets for the spring game, which will kick at 1:10 p.m., are general admission and priced at $5 while children under the age of two will be admitted at no charge. Due to the construction of the new West Stadium Center, only lower-level seating in the east and south bowls will be open, and fans are asked to park in the east stadium lots to avoid construction traffic on the west side. Parking is free and will open at 10:00 a.m.

Football season ticket holders who renewed their season tickets prior to the March 29 early bird deadline will be mailed two complimentary spring game tickets per account. K-State students who order their student pass on iSIS prior to April 26 will be able to pick up a free ticket prior to the game on the east side of the stadium at Gate T. Students who have not bought a student pass may purchase a spring game ticket for $5.

Fans are encouraged to order their tickets in advance. To purchase tickets, visit k-statesports.com or call the K-State Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-221-CATS. The east side ticket booth at the stadium will also be open on gameday beginning at 10 a.m., while gates will open at 11:45 a.m.

K-State opens the 2013 season and the new West Stadium Center August 30 with a primetime, nationally-televised home game on FOX Sports 1 against North Dakota State.
