Activities Abound Surrounding Spring Game

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Fans attending the April 24 Purple/White spring football game will be treated to a weekend of exciting events, including the annual Powercat Auction and golf tournament, an autograph session with the Elite Eight men's basketball team and a free concert following the game.

The 2010 spring game and postgame concert outside Bill Snyder Family Stadium will also cap the events of the University's annual Open House weekend. For a complete listing of those activities on campus, visit

Kicking off the weekend's festivities will be the 26th annual Powercat Auction and golf tournament on Friday, April 23. The scramble-format golf tournament will tee off at 10 a.m. at Colbert Hills Golf Course, while the auction, which will feature numerous new and exciting auction items, will begin at 6 p.m. inside Bramlage Coliseum. The record-setting 2009-10 men's basketball team will be signing autographs on the south concourse of the stadium from 4:30 p.m. until kickoff of the spring game. Fans must have a ticket to the Purple/White game to participate and are limited to one signed item per person.

Those in attendance will also be treated to a free concert in the East parking lot of Bill Snyder Family Stadium following the spring game. SpringFest, hosted by the Union Program Council, will feature music artists Nick Motil and Quietdrive.

Tickets for K-State's 2010 Purple/White spring game, which kicks off at 6:10 p.m., are priced at $5 for all fans, while children under the age of two will be admitted at no charge. To purchase tickets, visit or call the K-State Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-221-CATS.

Parking for the event is free and both the west and east lots of the stadium will open at 3 p.m. prior to the game. Stadium gates will open at 4:30 p.m.

Also of note, there will be no autograph session with the football team following the 2010 spring game, but fans will have that opportunity during fall training camp.
