Gregory Enrolls at K-State

MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder has announced that former South Florida quarterback Grant Gregory has enrolled at the university and will immediately be eligible to play for the Wildcats in 2009.


Gregory, South Florida’s backup quarterback for the past three seasons, was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA prior to his transfer from USF and was recently approved to be immediately eligible to play by the NCAA Subcommittee on Legislative Relief. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.


A native of Athens, Ohio, Gregory graduated from South Florida in 2007 with a degree in communications and will pursue his graduate degree at Kansas State.


The 6-1, 205-pounder played in 22 career games at South Florida as the backup quarterback and completed 27-of-50 passes for 384 yards and four touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback also rushed for 130 yards on 31 carries for his career.


At Athens High School, Gregory was an All-Ohio performer that passed for more than 4,200 yards and 41 touchdowns in three years and ran for more than 1,000 yards and 21 scores.


Kansas State opens the 2009 season on September 5 against Massachusetts. Kickoff at Bill Snyder Family Stadium is set for 6:10 p.m.
