K-State Partners with Area Retailers for Football Promotion

K-State opens the season August 30 vs. NDSU

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State Athletics officials announced today the “This Family Wears Purple” football ticket promotion, a partnership with local and regional retailers that will allow Wildcat fans across the Midwest to purchase tickets to the November 16 Big 12 matchup with TCU.

K-State fans that purchase $50 or more in K-State merchandise at any of the participating stores below will receive a voucher for up to $40 off each ticket (limit two) for the home game vs. TCU.  Ticket quantities, which have been held exclusively for this program, are limited so fans are encouraged to act fast.

Participating retailers for the “This Family Wears Purple” promotion include:

• Finish Line (Manhattan, two Wichita locations)
• Joe’s Sports Time Fan Shop (Wichita)
• K-State Campus Store (Follett)

• Rally House (Topeka, Wichita, Oak Park, Independence, North Kansas City, Mission, Leawood, Plaza, Olathe, St. Joseph (Mo.)

• Varney’s (two Manhattan locations, Salina)

Since K-State entered into its current licensing agreement with Licensing Resource Group (LRG) in July of 2010, licensing royalties for the university eclipsed the $1 million mark for the first time in the department's history and have increased to $1.5 million annually.

Kansas State will take part in the 2013 Big 12 Football Media Days on Monday at the Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas, Texas. Representing K-State along with head coach Bill Snyder will be Tyler Lockett, Ty Zimmerman, B.J. Finney and Tre Walker. K-State opens its doors to the new West Stadium Center and kicks off the 2013 season by welcoming two-time defending FCS National Champion North Dakota State in a special Friday-night contest on August 30. The contest is slated for a 7:30 p.m., kickoff and will be televised nationally by FOX Sports 1.

Season tickets for the upcoming season in addition to single-game tickets for the 2013 opener are sold out. Athletics officials have announced that 500 general admission/SRO tickets for seven of the Wildcats’ eight home games will go on sale Monday to the general public, while 500 additional seats from Oklahoma’s returned allotment will also be available. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone or in person beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
