MANHATTAN, Kan. - After consecutive season-opening record-breaking turnouts, K-State Athletics is encouraging fans to help generate excitement for the 2011 football season with another capacity crowd at the September 3 K-State Family Reunion when the Wildcats host Eastern Kentucky in the home opener at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Friday's media day at Bill Snyder Family Stadium will mark 30 days until the 2011 season officially kicks off, and all Wildcat fans can enter K-State’s 30 Days of #Winning contest to become eligible for more than $4,500 worth of K-State prizes.  To enter, fans should become a fan of K-State Athletics on facebook (kstatesports), follow K-State Sports on Twitter(@kstatesports), or email their name, address and phone number to promotions@kstatesports.com.  Beginning Friday, August 5 K-State Athletics will begin counting down for the home opener with a daily random prize drawing.

Each day from August 5 through September 3, fans enrolled in the 30 Days of #Winning contest will have the opportunity to take home prizes such as official Nike apparel, K-State branded tailgating supplies and gift cards and DVDs from K-State's online store, while one lucky fan will win a trip for two to see the Wildcats take on Miami on September 24 and stay in the official team hotel.  A full schedule of prizes is available at K-State Sports on Facebook and Twitter Winners will be announced daily at 4 p.m. on K-State's social media sites, and will be contacted via email.

Fans are encouraged to order tickets early to ensure their seat in Bill Snyder Family Stadium for the season opener. Last season, K-State fans sold out four of the six home games and set new school total and average attendance records for a six-game home slate.

"Wildcat fans are proud and passionate in their support of our student-athletes and programs," said Athletics Director John Currie, "With several fan improvements inside the stadium, such as the new restroom additions to the east side upper deck and the new infill AstroTurf playing surface, there is no better time to come to a ballgame than this season. Selling out the home opener for the third-straight season would send a message to the nation while also providing the best possible atmosphere for our football student-athletes."

K-State is again asking for fans to help spread the word about the annual Family Reunion. Fans can pick up door hangs from the Fan Experience and Sales office to distribute to other K-State fans and new neighbors in their communities beginning Monday, August 8. Fans are also encouraged to change their profile photos on Facebook and Twitter to the Family Reunion and 30 Days of #Winning logo.

Tickets to the September 3 game, which kicks at 6:10 p.m., start at only $20. Fans can visit the new K-State Athletics ticket website at k-statesports.com/tickets to view all ticket options for the 2011 season. All tickets may be purchased online at k-statesports.com, by calling 1-800-221-CATS or by visiting the K-State Athletics Ticket Office. Students can purchase season passes by logging into their student account on iSIS.

The Wildcats are coming off a 7-6 campaign in 2010 and a berth in the inaugural New Era Pinstripe Bowl, while coach Bill Snyder, entering his 20th season at K-State, is one win away from his 150th career win as head coach.
