Athletics Adds FB Student Ticket Options

MANHATTAN, Kan. –  While reporting strong initial orders for student football and basketball combo season tickets, Kansas State Athletics Director John Currie announced Wednesday that K-State students can now purchase a football-only general admission ticket for the 2009 season.

The decision to provide an additional option and reinstate the football-only ticket originated in Currie's initial meetings with Student Government officers over the last month. K-State SGA President Dalton Henry said the football-only season ticket provides an important benefit for students.

"Upon arriving at K-State in June, John Currie has said numerous times that the new athletics administration is going to put the fans first," Henry said. "He listened and is helping students by providing other ticket options."

Students now have the choice of purchasing an ICAT Combo ticket (Sections 24 and 25 in Bill Snyder Family Stadium) which includes football and basketball at $330, a general admission combo at $245 and the new GA football-only season ticket for $150. Student general admission combo and football-only seating is located in Sections 26, 27 and 28 of the stadium. All student ticket options are currently on sale here at www.k-statesports.com.  Men's basketball tickets will only be available through a combo ticket purchase.

"Our students provide an electric atmosphere and home field advantage at Bill Snyder Family Stadium," Currie said. "I appreciate the great dialogue that has developed with Dalton Henry, Amy Schultz and our other student leaders as we seek to achieve our goal of having the best fan experience in the Big 12. Our goal is that by providing additional options we can continue to see our student sections be packed with purple while allowing all interested students the opportunity to attend games. "

As an additional benefit, students who have purchased a season combo ticket or purchase one now will have first opportunity to buy a ticket to the Iowa State Game at Arrowhead Stadium for a discounted price of $20.

Students who previously purchased a season combo ticket but prefer a football-only season option may submit a request for a refund. To allow for student tickets ordered through iSiS to be processed and fees dispersed, all refund requests must be made from October 1-15 in person at the Athletics Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum during weekday business hours.
