New Customer Service Initiatives Continue at K-State

K-State opens the football season Sept. 4

Aug. 11, 2010

MANHATTAN, Kan. - As part of Kansas State's continuing commitment to the best fan experience in the Big 12, new customer service initiatives have been established in the Athletics Ticket Office to ensure a smooth and efficient purchasing experience for all Wildcat fans entering the 2010-11 season.

Under the leadership of Scott Garrett, who was hired in June as Assistant Athletics Director for Ticketing and Fan Strategies, new initiatives include a redesigned ticket homepage at, which will make navigation and the process of gathering information and purchasing tickets easier for fans. Updated maps, parking information, gameday policies and ticket pricing can now all be found in one central location. Beginning August 16, the ticket office will also extend phone and walk-in services by one hour per day, with a new permanent schedule of 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Garrett, who supervises both the athletics ticket and fan experience offices, has implemented a new live online chat function allowing fans to instantly submit questions or comments regarding tickets to a staff member during regular office hours. A new ticket office e-mail address,, is also available for fans to send in questions at any time. Additionally, ticket office staff members are working with the fan experience and sales office on new ticket sales initiatives and with Paciolan, the company that provides the department's ticket purchasing software and online purchasing site, to update and enhance the "my account" page for ticket-holders and donors.

"We are committed to providing the best possible customer service and continuing to improve upon the overall experience of Wildcat fans," said Athletics Director John Currie. "Scott, and assistant ticket managers Stephanie Van De Creek and Adam Holste, have done a terrific job in implementing these initiatives, which are sure to be of tremendous benefit to our season ticket holders, donors and fans as we continue our pledge to the best fan experience in the Big 12."

Prior to joining the K-State staff, Garrett served as an Assistant Athletic Director at Wichita State, where he was responsible for the overall management of the athletic ticket office. As part of the Shockers external relations team, Garrett worked closely with the fundraising, marketing and promotions, and media relations staffs. He began his career in athletics and spent five years with the University of Illinois at Chicago, managing season and single-game ticket sales and marketing, ticket operations and athletic event guest services, while assisting with special events, game operations, and corporate partnership sales and fulfillment.

Fans can utilize these new ticket office initiatives to purchase tickets to the Wildcats' 2010 football season opener on September 4. Tickets start at $35 each and fewer than 3,500 tickets remain for the 2:30 p.m. nationally-televised contest against UCLA, so fans are encouraged to act now and reserve their place in Bill Snyder Family Stadium. To order tickets for the season opener, or any of the six exciting home games in 2010, fans can call the ticket office at 1-800-221-CATS, visit the new and improved or stop by the ticket office in Bramlage Coliseum.

A copy of the 2010 football ticket brochure, which includes all ticket prices and options, is also available online.
