Wildcat Classic Directors Cut Now Available

MANHATTAN, Kan. - K-State Athletics announced Monday the second release in the Special Wildcat Classic Director's Cut series, the 1989 K-State win over North Texas.

The unique DVD gives Wildcat fans a glimpse at the start of the greatest turnaround in college football history, while hearing the thoughts of some of the men who lived it in former players Brooks Barta and Michael Smith, as well as legendary head coach Bill Snyder.

Fans can watch a shortened version of the game, complete with the radio call from the Wildcat Sports Network or select an additional commentary featuring Coach Snyder, Barta and Smith, and their thoughts on the 1989 team, the season and the last few thrilling moments of an unforgettable game.

Also included on the DVD are the postgame comments from Coach Snyder's press conference as well as the following week's Bill Snyder TV show, chronicling the memorable victory.

Priced at $19.89, the "Special Wildcat Classic Director's Cut: 1989 K-State vs. North Texas" can be purchased online at k-statesports.com via the DVD store. The store also includes the first release in the Special Wildcat Classic Director's Cut series, the 1998 K-State win over Nebraska, featuring Coach Snyder and former players Jeremy Martin and Damion McIntosh.

Fans who ordered a $35 ticket for the UMass game and received a complimentary copy of the North Texas DVD can expect their copy to arrive this week as the DVD's were shipped Monday morning.

Members of both the 1989 and 1998 K-State football teams will make up part of the 300-plus K-State football alumni that will be honored during the Sept. 5 game vs. UMass as part of the K-State Family Reunion.

K-State opens the 2009 season on September 5 at home against UMass. Kickoff for the K-State Family Reunion is set for 6:10 p.m.

Less than 6,500 tickets remain for the opener, including 700 GA tickets priced at $20 each. Season tickets for 2009 also remain available in good locations, and the most convenient way to order tickets is online here at www.k-statesports.com.
