K-State Places 20 on NFL Rosters

MANHATTAN, Kan. Twenty former Kansas State players survived final NFL cuts on Sunday as teams trimmed their rosters down to the maximum 53-man active roster and eight-man practice squad.

Of the 10 players, 10 were on offense, nine were on defense, and one was a specialist.

Former Wildcats of note on NFL rosters include eighth-year defensive end Darren Howard of the Philadelphia Eagles, fifth-year cornerback Terence Newman of the Dallas Cowboys and fifth-year fullback Rock Cartwright of the Washington Redskins.

All three Wildcats who were drafted this past April made their respective squads, as Yamon Figurs (Baltimore 3rd round) and Zac Diles (Houston 7th round) made the active roster, while Thomas Clayton (San Francisco 6th round) was placed on the practice squad.
