K-State Football Launches Student Volunteer Program

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State head football coach Ron Prince announce the launch of a new volunteer program designed specifically to involve K-State students with Wildcat football.

Called Powercat Pride, the group's mission will be to effectively communicate the values of the Wildcat football program through campus and public relations initiatives designed to have a positive impact on both the Kansas State community as well as prospective student-athletes.

Students selected to become members of Powercat Pride will have the opportunity to work closely with the entire Wildcat football coaching staff in a cooperative effort to develop and implement creative strategies that contribute to the success and tradition of Kansas State football.

The development of Powercat Pride marks the first time that the Wildcat football program has created an opportunity with this level of responsibility for K-State students.

Applications for positions with Powercat Pride are available online at www.k-statesports.com and must be submitted via e-mail to volunteer coordinator Linda Pinsent at lpinsent@ksu.edu.

The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday, Sept. 20. Interviews are scheduled to take place the week of Sept. 25.
