Head Coach Bill Snyder
On the UCF pass defense...
"Tough is a good word because describing the totality of their program, and certainly their defense whether it is against the run or against the pass, they have not only been proficient, but they run hard, play hard, and they play fast and will hit you. They are an aggressive defensive football team and that applies to all facets of it run and pass."

On UCF defensive end Darius Nall ...
"See he is a No. 2. You look at their depth, and they have four that they can play and you cannot tell the difference from them. They are all awfully good. It goes back to what I was saying a minute ago - they play hard, they play fast, they are tough youngsters and they are going to play until the whistle on every snap, and they have good depth to do it. They continually rotate guys in and out, get into the fourth quarter and are in better condition than their opponent."

On William Powell...
"He gives you what you see. He is a good running back. He is a good kickoff return guy and a patient young guy, which helps him be good at the two things that he is involved with right now. He is on some other special teams units in which he plays well and aggressively. He is a marvelous young person. I always speak to Daniel Thomas in that manner, and that is one of the ways that he is very similar to Daniel. He is a very humble young person, pleasant young man and just a very solid good guy."

On William Powell's reaction on receiving a scholarship...
"He came in and thanked me, and I appreciated that because that is the kind of guy that he is. Anytime I do something for him, he will respond in the right way. He did, and he was pleased about it and was very grateful."

On decision to move Daniel Thomas to running back last fall...
"I just did not feel like he would be able to throw the football as well as you would like at that position. He had capabilities to do a lot of things. When I saw him on video tape, it was apparent that he could run the ball, yet there were questions about his ability to throw the ball and how well he could throw it to be a Division I-A quarterback."

On the improvement of the offensive line in pass protection...
"Well, we are still not without our glitches, but that is true for every player. Pass protection is being able to work together. It is not always one-on-one. It's about getting into the right calls and protections and being able to help each other out. I think the more you work together, the better you become at protection. They have just been able to experience so much together, and the more they do it, the better they get at it I think."

On Tre Walker's progress...
"Tre is in the learning process. Yes, he is getting better, but maybe not as steady because he has not been in the program long enough. He has only been here for three games, so he is still a work in progress."

On players with good starts to season...
"Well, I think our offensive line has done that. Ty Zimmerman does not see a lot of numbers and stats behind his performance as a starter for two ballgames. He has not put us into jeopardy in any way during that period of time. He's not a lot of flash and glitter, but he plays extremely steady, does all of the right things and does not make mistakes."

Quarterback Carson Coffman
On the importance of a win against UCF...
"That would be huge for us. Our team motto for this year has been `1-0 in every practice and 1-0 in every game.' We are just looking to go 1-0 this week."

On UCF's defense...
"They are pretty fast. I have not watched a whole lot of film on them yet. As Coach Snyder told us yesterday, they will be one of the best teams we have faced up to this point, so we are not looking past them at all."

On the play of the wide receivers this season...
"We have extremely talented receivers, and I am confident in all of them. They have shown through practice and through summer workouts that they can make plays. Even when they are not getting the ball as much as they would like to, they are still blocking downfield extremely well, which has helped our running game a lot."

Defensive End Antonio Felder
On the upcoming game against UCF...
"They are going to bring in a fast team both offensively and defensively. They are going to take a lot of preparation just like every other team. This is not a team that you can let up on in preparation during the week."

On the UCF game falling in between conference games...
"It is different, but I do not expect anyone on the team to lose their focus. We are trying to go 1-0 every week, and this week is certainly no exception."

On how they plan to contain UCF quarterback Jeff Godfrey...
"We are going to have to do a lot of bull-rushing and try to get to the outside before he does to try to keep him contained. There are a few ways we will try to contain him. That will be the key to the game because he is a very fast quarterback."

Linebacker Blake Slaughter
On his assessment of the defense...
"At this point in the season, I feel that our best game was against UCLA. I do not think we have played to that potential since that game. I feel that we are still trying to get back to the things we took pride in when we played UCLA, which was running to the ball and tackling as a team. Our defensive coordinator was not too happy with the way we played against Iowa State. Obviously, we have a lot to improve on. Holding them to 13 points was good, but after watching the film, it told a different story."

On what he saw in the film against Iowa State...
"We did not control the line of scrimmage or get off our blocks very well. If we keep committing those errors, you will get beat eventually, so we need to get them fixed this week."

On the challenge of playing a mobile quarterback...
"It puts a lot of stress on the defensive line and the linebackers. The defensive line will have to be very aggressive in their pass rush. We will have to do a good job of containing the quarterback and communicate well on our stunts."

Fullback Braden Wilson
On the upcoming game against UCF...
"I expect them to be really fast. They are going to be a really good team. They could very well be the toughest team we have played so far. It is going to be a good, hard-fought game."

On the success of the running game so far this season...
"I do feel like we have done pretty well in the running game. At the same time, I feel like we can do better. So we are going to keep improving and keep doing what we have been doing."

On his personal confidence level this season...
"It is not even close to last year. I have so much more confidence out on the field. Last year, I came in and I was just a wide-eyed freshman. I kind of came into the games with jitters and butterflies in my stomach. But this year, it is just something that I do."
