MANHATTAN, Kan. - Each week throughout the 2011 season, k-statesports.com will highlight former Kansas State football players currently in the NFL.

Brandon Banks, WR/Kick Returner - Washington Redskins
Banks, the kick-return specialist for Washington, returned three punts for seven yards and one kickoff for 19 yards in the Redskins' 23-17 win on Sunday at Seattle. In 11 games this season, Banks has returned 33 kickoffs for a 23.3-yard average and a long of 47, while he has taken back 28 punts for a 10.8-yard average and a long of 55. Banks' punt-return average is fifth in the league among players with 25 or more returns. Washington is 4-7 this season.

Rock Cartwright, RB - Oakland Raiders
Cartwright, a 10th-year veteran who is one of the top special teams players for the Raiders, recorded one special teams tackle and rushed once for four yards in Oakland's 25-20 win on Sunday at home against Chicago. In 11 games this season, Cartwright has 11 special teams tackles and has two carries for 39 yards, including a 35-yard fake punt in week five at Houston. Oakland leads the AFC West by a game over Denver with a 7-4 record.

Jeromey Clary, OL - San Diego Chargers
Clary, a starter at right tackle in all 11 games this season, made his 59th career start on Sunday for San Diego. The Chargers lost in overtime at home to Denver, 16-13, to fall to 4-7.

Zac Diles, LB - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Diles, a backup linebacker for Tampa Bay, was inactive for the Buccaneers' 23-20 loss at Tennessee on Sunday. In seven games this year, Diles has one tackle for the 4-7 Buccaneers.

Yamon Figurs, WR - Tennessee Titans
An off-season acquisition by the Tennessee Titans, Figurs is on injured reserve and will miss the entire 2011 season. Tennessee topped Tampa Bay, 23-17, on Sunday to move to 6-5 and remain in second place in the AFC South.

Josh Freeman, QB - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Freeman, the starting quarterback for Tampa Bay over the last two-plus seasons, was 18-of-33 through the air for 199 yards and one touchdown, and he rushed three times for 10 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-17 loss on Sunday at Tennessee. In 11 games this year, Freeman is 254-of-411 (61.8-percent) for 2,715 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has also rushed 38 times for 157 yards and two scores. Freeman is sixth in the NFL in completions and 12th in both completion percentage and yards. Tampa Bay is in third place in the NFC South with a 4-7 record.

Rob Jackson, LB - Washington Redskins
A backup linebacker and special teams player for Washington, Jackson played in Washington's 23-17 win on Sunday at Seattle. In 11 games this year, Jackson has collected five tackles for the Redskins, who are 4-7.

Ben Leber, LB - St. Louis Rams
Leber, who started the first four games at linebacker for St. Louis, was inactive the Rams' 23-20 home loss to Arizona on Sunday. In seven games this season, Leber has 15 tackles for the Rams, who are 2-9.

Ryan Lilja, OL - Kansas City Chiefs
A starter for the first 10 games of the season, Lilja was inactive for Kansas City's 13-9 loss against Pittsburgh on Sunday night. The Chiefs are now 4-7 this season to sit in a tie for third in the AFC West.

Jeron Mastrud, TE - Miami Dolphins
Mastrud played on special teams and two tight end sets in Miami's 20-19 loss at Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. In eight games this season, Mastrud has one catch for seven yards for the Dolphins, who are 3-8.

Jon McGraw, S - Kansas City Chiefs
A seven-game starter this season, McGraw got the nod at safety Sunday night in Kansas City's 13-9 loss against Pittsburgh. McGraw made four tackles in the game and also broke up a pass. In nine games this year, the safety has 40 tackles, five passes defended, two interceptions and one forced fumble. The Chiefs are in a tie for third place in the AFC West at 4-7.

Jordy Nelson, WR - Green Bay Packers
Nelson started and hauled in four passes for 26 yards in Green Bay's 27-15 Thanksgiving Day win at Detroit. He now has at least four receptions in each of the last five games and in seven total games. In his fourth year as a professional, Nelson has 44 receptions for a career-best 782 yards and nine scores. He is third in the NFL (second among wide receivers) in touchdowns, while he is third in average per catch among players with 40 or more receptions (17.8). Also, his 93-yard touchdown reception against St. Louis in week six remains the third-longest in the league this year. The Packers are still the only unbeaten team in the NFL at 11-0 and lead the NFC North by four games over Chicago and Detroit.

Terence Newman, CB - Dallas Cowboys
Newman started at cornerback for Dallas and helped the Cowboys earn a 20-19 Thanksgiving Day win over Miami. Newman, who has 32 career interceptions to tie for seventh in Cowboy history, has 31 tackles this season to go along with seven passes defended and four interceptions. His is tied for fifth in the league in interceptions. The Cowboys lead the NFC East with a 7-4 mark, a game ahead of the New York Giants.

Darren Sproles, RB/Returner - New Orleans Saints
An all-purpose player for New Orleans, Sproles helped the Saints come away with a 49-24 win on Monday night at home against the New York Giants as he rushed for 54 yards on eight carries and hauled in two passes for 28 yards. The dynamic player also returned a pair of kickoffs for a 31-yard average. A former draft pick by San Diego, Sproles has accounted for 1,748 all-purpose yards this season, including 479 receiving yards on 62 receptions (7.7 yards per catch). He also has six total touchdowns, coming on three pass receptions, two rushes and a punt return. Sproles is fifth in the league (first among running backs) in receptions, while his 26.8-yard kickoff-return average is fourth in the league among players with 25 or more returns. The Saints continue to lead the NFC South with an 8-3 mark, a game ahead of Atlanta.

Daniel Thomas, RB - Miami Dolphins
Thomas, Miami's primary backup running back, rushed six times for 25 yards and caught one pass for two yards in the Dolphins' 20-19 Thanksgiving Day loss at Dallas. Thomas has carded 431 rushing yards on 120 carries in eight games this year, while he has caught eight passes for 51 yards and one touchdown. Miami is 3-8 on the season.

Reggie Walker, LB - Arizona Cardinals
A backup linebacker and special teams player for Arizona, Walker played the Cardinals' 23-20 win at St. Louis on Sunday. In 11 games this season, Walker has 11 tackles for Arizona, which is tied for second in the NFC West at 4-7.
