MANHATTAN, Kan. College Football News has announced its 2008 All-Freshman and All-Sophomore teams and three Wildcats were honored, led by first team All-Freshman selection Brandon Harold at defensive end.

Joining Harold on the All-Freshman squad was linebacker Alex Hrebec, who earned honorable mention honors from the publication, while cornerback Joshua Moore also earned honorable mention honors on the All-Sophomore team.

Harold, a native of East St. Louis, Ill., was one of two Wildcat true freshmen to start this past season and totaled 45 tackles, 10.5 for loss, with 3.0 sacks en route to honorable mention all-conference honors.

The 6-6, 265-pound defensive end is currently ranked first nationally among freshmen defensive linemen in tackles for loss, while his 3.0 sacks rank second in the Big 12 Conference among freshmen defensive linemen. The St. Louis, Mo., native ranks 37th overall in the Big 12 Conference in tackles, 21st among linebackers, and collected 39 tackles over the final four games of the season, including a career-best 10 in the season finale against Iowa State.
