Pep Rally Caps Eventful Wednesday

HOUSTON, Texas On the eve of the inaugural Texas Bowl, Kansas State participated in a full day of events and activities Wednesday in Houston, which was capped by a pep rally at Reliant Arena that was attended by an estimated 7,500 Wildcat fans.


The pep rally, which was attended by the entire team and coaching staff, included performances from the Pride of Wildcat Land marching band and cheerleaders, messages from Senator Pat Roberts, President Jon Wefald and Athletics Director Tim Weiser and also speeches from Ron Prince and team captains.


The Wildcats opened the day with team and individual photos and a walk-through inside Reliant Stadium as K-State put the finishing touches on its preparation for Rutgers.


In the afternoon, selected players and coaches traveled to the DePelchin Children’s Center where they signed autographs and visited with over 30 children. DePelchin is the official charitable beneficiary of the inaugural Texas Bowl.


The Wildcats and Scarlet Knights meet Thursday at 7 p.m. inside Reliant Stadium in the inaugural Texas Bowl. The game will be televised nationally by the NFL Network.
