GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The Kansas State men's golf team finished in ninth place after carding a 2-over 290 in the final round of the WSU Snowman Getaway at the par-72, 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Club on Tuesday. The Wildcats ended the event at 12-over par 876.

"Today was an improvement," said head coach Tim Norris. "Again, we have got to step it up, but I did see some (positive) signs today, and we probably played the best we have so far this spring. We just need to keep building on that."

For the second day in a row, senior Curtis Yonke paced the Wildcats with a 1-over par 73 to finish in a four-way tie for 17th place at 1-over 217. Tuesday's result marked the third top-20 finish for Yonke this season.

Junior Daniel Wood recorded a 2-over 218 to end the event in a tie for 21st place, while senior Ben Juffer and sophomore Kyle Weldon each carded an 8-over 222 to tie for 39th place. Weldon entered Tuesday's final round in a tie for 51st but was able to shoot up the leaderboard thanks to an even-par final round.

Closing out the K-State scoring lineup was freshman Matt Green who tied for 65th after tallying a 12-over 228. Like Weldon, Green bounced back in the final round with an even-par 72. Competing as an individual, junior David Klaudt finished in a tie for 74th place.

Missouri cruised to the team victory as the Tigers carded an 11-under 853, besting second-place finisher and host-school Washington State by seven strokes. Mizzou was led by Jace Long, who tied with Washington State's Michael Anderson for the individual title at 7-under 209.

The Wildcats will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday as they head west to compete in the Fresno State Lexus Classic at the par-72, 6,481-yard Belmont Country Club in Fresno, Calif.
