FRESNO, Calif. -- The Kansas State men's golf team finished two rounds of play at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic in a tie for for 10th place at the Fort Washington Country Club on Monday.

K-State shot a 13-over par 733 on the day, carding a 13-over par 373 in round one before improving to even-par 360 in round two. The team is currently tied with Brigham Young and will look to climb the leaderboard during the final round on Tuesday.

"An absolutely perfect day for golf. No wind to speak of. We had a good round this afternoon - even par. I was pretty pleased with the guys," head coach Tim Norris said. "We still have to shave some shots, each guy, every round, and we might be up there close to the top."

K-State's Curtis Yonke was tied for 25th after the first round, but he climbed the leaderboard and ended the day tied for fourth with five other competitors. He shot a 4-under par 140 for the day, carding a even-par 72 in the first round and a 4-under par 68 in the second round.

"I am really proud of Curtis for leading the way for us, playing with a lot of confidence and I hope we move up tomorrow. This five of six format might not be real advantageous for us; we are not the deepest team this year. This is a good experience for these guys, and if the weather is Kansas-like tomorrow like they are predicting, then I hope we will move up the leaderboard."
