TRINITY, Texas - The Kansas State men's golf team turned in a 14-over 302 during Saturday's third round of 2014 Big 12 Championship at the par-72, 5,021-yard Whispering Pines Golf Club, and will enter Sunday's final round in ninth place at 61-over par 925.

"The team as a whole is still struggling a little bit," said head coach Tim Norris. "Our guys are off just a little bit but we will just tee it up tomorrow and see what we can do. Again, I challenged the guys to play today and tomorrow and just clear the slate."

Daniel Wood led the Wildcats on Saturday as he carded a 3-under 69 - the second-lowest score of the day - to tally a three-round score of 6-over 222 and is currently tied for 19th place.

"Daniel had a great round today and that was just a really positive thing for us," continued Norris. "He was in position all day today and he was just spot on every shot over the last five holes. I was really proud of him and hopefully he can finish out his career with another great round tomorrow."

Seth Smith ended the day with two birdies and will enter Sunday's final round tied for 36th place at 16-over 232, while Kyle Weldon (T41st), David Klaudt (43rd) and Alex Carney (45th) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats on Saturday.

Texas Tech will enter the final round of play atop the team leaderboard at 2-over 866, one stroke ahead of defending conference champion, Texas. TCU's Julien Brun fired a blistering 6-under 66 over Saturday's third round and is currently leading on the individual side at 5-under 211.
