Green in Top 20 after Day One of Big 12s

TULSA, Okla. -- The Kansas State men's golf team sits in ninth place after two rounds of play at the 2015 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship at the par-70, 7,151-yard Southern Hills Club on Monday. Sophomore Matt Green led the Wildcats on day one as he is tied for 15th at 8-over par 148.

"It was a tough day today, especially with the conditions," said head coach Grant Robbins, whose team shot a 25-over 305 in the first round but improved with a 19-over 299 in round two. "The guys fought hard. We just need to minimize the big numbers and continue to stay focused and understand the value of every shot."

Green is just two strokes shy of the top 10 with two rounds remaining. He fired a 2-over par 72 in the first round and a 6-over par 76 over the second 18 holes.
