Green Remains in Top 20 Through Round Three

TULSA, Okla. -- The Kansas State men's golf team carded a 29-over par 309 Tuesday to finish the day in ninth place in the 2015 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship at the par-70, 7,151-yard Southern Hills Country Club.

K-State, which has accumulated a 54-hole score of 73-over par 913, was again led by Matt Green. The sophomore carded a 4-over par 74 on Tuesday and heads into Wednesday's final round tied for 19th place at 12-over par 222.

"Today was a struggle," head coach Grant Robbins said. "When you play a golf course like this against this type of competition, your weaknesses will be exposed and ours were today. The only thing you can do is learn from it and then put it behind you and keep playing."

"I expect our guys to continue to battle and come ready to play tomorrow," Robbins said about Wednesday's fourth and final round.

No. 2 Texas continues to sit atop the leaderboard at 9-over par 849, 20 strokes ahead of second-place Texas Tech, which moved up from third place in round three. Scottie Scheffler of Texas is the only individual under par at 3-under par 207 thanks to a 2-under par 68 on Tuesday. He leads by three strokes over teammate Gavin Hall, who is at even-par 210. Another Longhorn, Doug Ghim, is in a three-way tie for third at 4-over par 214.
