K-State's Green Tied for 28th After Round Two

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. -- Kansas State men's golfer Matt Green carded a 3-over par 75 Friday to sit in a tie for 28th place following a rainy second round of the 2015 NCAA San Diego Regional at the par-72, 6,947-yard Farms Golf Club. Green enters Saturday's final round with a 36-hole score of 4-over par 148.

"Matt struggled a little bit today off the tee which made it difficult to get anything going," head coach Grant Robbins said. "He just needs to stay patient tomorrow, limit the big numbers and he should finish strong."

Starting on the back nine, Green double-bogeyed No. 10 but rebounded with a birdie on par-5 No. 12. The sophomore then continued to fire even par through four holes before a bogey on No. 17, immediately followed by a birdie on No. 18. He started the front nine the same way with a double-bogey on No. 1 but battled back with two birdies on his second nine of the day.

Arizona State's Jon Rahm sits atop of the individual leaderboard at 7-under par 137 due to an 8-under par 64 in round two. Two golfers are tied for second at 5-under par 139, followed by another at 4-under par 140. Oklahoma continues to lead the team competition with a score of 17-under par 559 after firing 13-under par 275 in the second round. The Sooners are 22 shots ahead of second-place Arizona State.

Green tees off for the final round of the NCAA San Diego Regional at 10:34 a.m. (PT) Saturday morning off hole No. 10. Live results can be followed at www.golfstat.com and final results will be posted on www.k-statesports.com at the conclusion of play.
