STOCKTON, Calif. - The Kansas State men's golf team moved up the leaderboard one spot thanks to a 3-under 281 during the second round of the 2013 Pacific Invitational at the par-71, 6-511-yard Stockton Golf and Country Club on Friday.

"We played a little bit better today," said head coach Tim Norris. "We have got to have a couple of low rounds tomorrow and hopefully we can move up. But I thought today was a good rebound from yesterday after a disappointing finish."

For the second day in a row, seniors Daniel Wood and Alex Carney led the charge for the Wildcats as both golfers fired a 2-under 69 during the second round of play. Wood is currently tied for sixth place at 4-under 138 while Carney enters Friday's final round in 17th place at 1-under 141.

David Klaudt moved up the leaderboard 12 spots after carding a second-round even-par 71 to end Friday's play in a tie for 29th place. Rounding out the scoring lineup for the Wildcats were Kyle Weldon and Connor Knabe who are tied for 42nd and 52nd, respectively.

BYU will go into Friday's final round with a 16-stroke lead over St. Marys. Cougar golfer Joe Parkinson currently sits atop the individual leaderboard, five shots ahead of teammate Justin Kelley.

Final-round action from the Stockton Golf and Country Club will begin on Saturday morning with an 8 a.m. (PST) shotgun start.
