MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State men's golf team will head to the West Coast to compete in the Fresno State University Lexus Classic, Monday and Tuesday, March 4-5, at the par-72, 6,570-yard Belmont Country Club in Fresno, Calif. This will mark the third and final trip to California for the Wildcats this season and the first time since 2011 that K-State has played in the FSU Lexus Classic.

The event will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday, with a 7:30 a.m. (PST) shotgun start to begin play each day.

"This is a great opportunity for our team to see where we stand with some of the top teams from the West Coast, including the No. 1 team in the country, the California Bears," said head coach Tim Norris. "I feel with the work we got in last week in Arizona the rust is off. At just over 6,500 yards and good weather predicted, low scores will be plentiful. This team is not afraid to go low as shown in our 47-under par victory in Stockton last fall."

The scoring lineup for the Wildcats will consist of Curtis Yonke, Daniel Wood, Ben Juffer, Kyle Weldon and Matt Green. For the second-consecutive event, David Klaudt will be competing as an individual.

Yonke is coming off a solid performance as he carded a 1-over 217 to finish in a tie for 17th place, his third top-20 finish of the season. Wood recorded a 2-over 218 to tie for 21st place in the Snowman Getaway and currently leads the team in stroke average (72.78).

The last time out, Juffer and Weldon each tallied a 6-over 222 to finish in a tie for 39th, Green notched a 12-over 228 and Klaudt fired a 16-over 232.

In addition to K-State, the field for the Fresno State Lexus Classic will consist of Arizona, BYU, California, Cal Poly, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, UC Irvine, Nevada, Northwestern, Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, Sacramento State, UC Santa Barbara and Utah.

Post-event recaps and results from the 2013 FSU Lexus Classic will be available at kstatesports.com at the conclusion of play on Monday and Tuesday.
