K-State Heads to North Carolina for Gary Koch Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- The Kansas State men's golf team will continue its spring slate in the 2015 Gary Koch Invitational, Monday-Tuesday, April 6-7, at the par-72, 7,042-yard Gastonia Country Club in Gastonia, North Carolina. The trip east will mark the fifth of seven events for the Wildcats this spring season.

"This will be a good tournament for us," said head coach Grant Robbins. "It is a very good golf course and we will be competing against another strong field. We have had a good week of practice, and I know the guys are ready and eager to compete."

In addition to K-State, the field consists of the two co-hosts, Kentucky and Auburn, accompanied by Akron, Charleston Southern, Davidson, Elon, Florida State, North Carolina State, Ohio State, UNC Charlotte, UNC Wilmington, VCU, Western Carolina and Winthrop.

The event is comprised of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday, with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. (ET) each day.

K-State's scoring lineup will remain the same as the Wildcats will send Matt Green, Trent Evans, Connor Knabe, Seth Smith and Hank Simpson.

Kansas State will look to bounce back after its 12th-place finish at the Duck Invitational. Evans is coming off of his best finish of the season when he carded a 7-over par 223 to tie for 28th place. Smith finished two strokes behind Evans, firing a 9-over par 225 and tying for 33rd.
