Streb Opens Masters Week Monday

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Former Kansas State men's golfer Robert Streb will participate in his first Masters week at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, beginning with practice rounds on Monday and Tuesday.

A four-year letterwinner for the Wildcats from 2006-09, Streb is believed to be the first former K-State golfer to compete in the Masters since Jim Colbert in 1984. He earned his invite by winning The McGladrey Classic in Sea Island, Georgia, in October.

Practice rounds are held all day Monday and Tuesday with video available online at from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m. (CT) on Monday and 8-10 a.m., on Tuesday. The Par 3 Contest will be held on Wednesday with live coverage from 2-4 p.m., on ESPN.

ESPN will also have first and second round coverage on Thursday and Friday, while CBS takes over for the third and final rounds over the weekend.

Streb enters Masters week ranked eighth in the FedExCup Rankings with 903 points thanks to his McGladrey Classic win and top-10 finishes at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open (T10th), Sanderson Farms Championship (8th), Hyundai Tournament of Champions (T8th) and Waste Management Phoenix Open (T10th).
